The role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic Rotational Radiographer with an Interest in Dental Imaging to join the supportive and dynamic Imaging teams within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde's North East Sector.

Working across Glasgow Dental Hospital, Glasgow Royal Infirmary and, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging services to a diverse patient population. This post offers the opportunity to develop specialist skills in dental imaging while maintaining and enhancing broader radiographic competencies within a large acute teaching environment. Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:

  • Full Time, Permanent
  • You will be initially based at Glasgow Dental Hospital but will be required to travel across NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde Sites.
  • Working Pattern: 5 days over 7, including weekends and public holidays.

Key responsibilities:

  • Perform and justify a wide range of diagnostic imaging examinations, ensuring high standards of patient care and image quality
  • Deliver dental imaging examinations including intra-oral imaging, OPT and iCAT procedures
  • Assess patient needs and adapt imaging techniques to support individuals with varying clinical, physical and communication requirements
  • Support the supervision, teaching and assessment of Radiography, Dental and Dental Nursing students within a teaching environment
  • Contribute to service delivery across acute and specialist clinical areas through rotational working arrangements
  • Maintain compliance with radiation protection regulations, departmental policies and quality assurance standards
  • Provide leadership and support to colleagues, assisting with workload coordination and service continuity when required

Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:

  • Degree in Diagnostic Radiography or DCR qualification with current HCPC registration
  • Relevant post-registration clinical experience as a Radiographer with the ability to apply theory to practice
  • Experience within dental radiography and an interest in developing specialist dental imaging skills
  • Evidence of continuing professional development and commitment to lifelong learning
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to support patients, students and multidisciplinary colleagues
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload and make informed clinical decisions
  • Positive, flexible and team-focused approach with the ability to work across a service operating 24 hours a day, 365 days a year as required
