Specialist Radiographer
Band 6 £43,231 - £52,679 per annum
Plus Distant Islands Allowance of £1,461 per annum
36 hours per week
Fixer term or Secondment post for 10 months
Applications on a secondment basis will be considered providing you have prior agreement from your current line manager.
We are looking for a highly motivated, dedicated and enthusiastic Radiographer to work in our busy Radiology Department.
You will have the opportunity to work in a state of the art department, using DR/CR (Philips/Siemens), Digital Fluoroscopy (Siemens), Multislice CT (Canon Prime SP 80), digital OPG, DXA and mobile imaging (Philips II, Philips Digital Mob), alongside a friendly team of support staff, Radiographers, Sonographers and Consultant Radiologist.
The service undertakes advanced Radiographer-led imaging including CT Colons and Coronary Angiograms.
Imaging is undertaken for a range of specialities – Respiratory, Oncology, Urology, Vascular, Orthopaedic, Gynecology, Pediatrics etc.
We are committed to providing the best care possible to our population – applicants should have understanding of Realistic Medicine and how this impacts Radiology.
This is a bank position; you may be asked to work at either the Western Isles Hospital in Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis, or Uist and Barra Hospital (UBH) on the Isle of Benbecula. The radiology department at UBH is staffed by one Radiographer, part-time hours. There is an on call from home commitment with this post.
The successful candidate will:
- hold DCR or BSc in Diagnostic Radiography
- have demonstrable post graduate education and expertise to lead safely, effectively and efficiently
- have good working experience in a wide range of diagnostic imaging investigations
- have understanding of the specific challenges of remote and rural healthcare delivery
- have proven NHS experience
- hold HCPC registration
