Band 6 Medical / Medicine of the Elderly Boarding patients Site Wide
Specialist Physiotherapist
2 years Fixed Term
We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic physiotherapist to join our dynamic Medical Physiotherapy Team.
You will deliver physiotherapy assessments and treatments across the Western General site’s specialist wards. The post aims to support flow within the hospital assisting in the delivery of a consistent and equitable delivery across the site to patients under the Medical and Medicine of The Elderly specialties care.
Candidates must display evidence of clinical experience in a variety of acute in-patient areas, with proven exposure to acute medicine, medicine of elderly, stroke and respiratory.
Ability to prioritise and discharge plan for a wide range of presentations is essential, as is clarity of communication and well-demonstrated organisational skills. Experience of supervision, mentorship and appraisal of other staff members / students is desirable.
The range of conditions and specialities encountered, and requirement for excellence in clinical reasoning and team working in this post at the Western General Hospital will allow the successful candidate to gain extensive and in-depth experience as a band 6 physiotherapist.
Physiotherapy Services support staff development through appraisal processes, supervision and CPD opportunities.
There is a regular weekend and overnight on-call commitment.
