An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Physiotherapist to join our Physiotherapy service working across beautiful South Powys.

We are looking for a person who wants to work within a motivated and enthusiastic team whose priority is to provide intensive inpatient neurological rehabilitation.

You will need to have excellent communication and organisational skills, a flexible approach to work and negotiation skills to motivate patients and staff to deliver high standards of care.

You will work closely as part of an MDT to deliver intensive rehabilitation on the rehabilitation unit at Brecon hospital.

Main duties of the job

Generic To work as an integral and active part of the therapy and multi-disciplinary team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the therapy team in the efficient provision of a patient centred service.

Role specific Main responsibilities include delivering inpatient rehabilitation at Brecon Hospital, which includes specialist assessment of neurological patients.

The base will be Brecon Hospital.

To contribute to service development, mentorship of junior staff, student physiotherapists and delegation of rehabilitation plans to enable active rehabilitation.

The team provides a 7-day service, and all staff are expected to be part of the weekend roster.

Be flexible at times of increased demand to the service.

To participate in the planning, development and evaluation of therapy service, having responsibility for defined projects.

We support CPD, in-service training, clinical supervision and career development.

This post requires the successful applicant to be able to work in in the community and therefore you will require the ability to travel in a timely manner between rural sites where there is limited or no public transport.

We would particularly welcome applications from Welsh speakers; but even if you don’t speak any Welsh, or want to develop your skills, don’t worry: the health board will support you with training.
