Specialist Physiotherapist – Medicine Rehabilitation
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a specialist physiotherapist who is passionate about rehabilitation to join the physiotherapy team in St David's Hospital (Cardiff & Vale UHB). The successful candidate will have specialist clinical knowledge and experience at a senior level in the field of medicine rehabilitation.
Main duties of the job
You will work alongside members of the multidisciplinary team to assess, treat, refer and signpost to support discharging home, as well as prevent further readmissions and prevent hospital acquired deconditioning. This will include being proactive re: complex discharge planning. This post is based in St David's Hospital, and works within a small team also covering Barry Hospital, where the postholder may occasionally be required to cover/support.
You will need to be able to demonstrate a wide range of clinical skills at a senior level, which should include working with older adults who may present with cognitive impairment and complex needs, frailty, falls balance issues and long term conditions.
In addition to your clinical skills you will require proven problem solving skills, resilience and flexibility in dealing with changes in service provision. You will have responsibility for supervising physiotherapists and support staff within the service. You require good time management, and prioritising skills working closely with the rehabilitation team members.
