We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Band 6 Specialist Physiotherapist to join our internationally recognised Pain Management Centre at UCLH. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a highly skilled multidisciplinary team delivering specialist care to patients with complex and persistent pain conditions.
You will play a key role in providing high-quality, patient-centred physiotherapy, using evidence-based approaches and innovative treatment strategies. In this role, you will contribute to the delivery of specialist physiotherapy care to patients with complex and persistent pain conditions, helping them improve function, confidence, and quality of life. You will use advanced clinical reasoning and a biopsychosocial approach to assess individual needs and develop personalised treatment strategies that empower patients to self-manage their condition effectively.
Main duties of the job
You will deliver a varied and rewarding caseload, including both one-to-one interventions and group-based pain management programmes and exercise classes, supporting patients through education, exercise, and behaviour change approaches. Working closely within a highly experienced multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to coordinated care planning and decision-making for patients with complex needs.
Alongside your clinical work, you will play an active role in shaping and improving the service. This includes contributing to service development initiatives, supporting innovation, and participating in audit and quality improvement activity. You will also support the development of others by supervising students and sharing your knowledge and promoting best practice across the team.
This role requires a proactive, compassionate clinician with excellent communication skills, the ability to work both independently and collaboratively, and a strong commitment to continuous learning and professional development. You will be encouraged to develop specialist expertise in pain management while contributing to a forward-thinking service.

- Broad post-graduate experience at appointment
- Proven experience and competence in assessing and treating a variety of patients
- Documented evidence of continuing professional development
- Experience delivering group-based rehabilitation or self-management programmes
- Evidence of active participation in in-service training programmes
Desirable
- Experience of multidisciplinary team working
- Experience within a specialist pain service
- Involvement in undergraduate training of student physiotherapists
- Evidence of participation in research and audit
- Experience supporting digital or technology enabled self management

- Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy
- Active member of a Pain management interest group
