Paediatric Physiotherapist – Children's Therapy Service
Are you an experienced Physiotherapist looking to specialise in paediatrics and make a meaningful difference to children's lives? Join our welcoming and innovative Children's Therapy Service based at Basildon Hospital, with opportunities to work across Basildon, Southend and Broomfield Hospital sites as part of our cross-site team.
You will become part of a supportive, dynamic, and well-led MSE-wide team of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Therapy Assistants who are committed to integrated working, delivering outstanding patient care, and achieving the best possible outcomes for children and their families.
We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Physiotherapist with a passion for paediatric care, excellent communication and organisational skills, and a commitment to continuous professional development. You'll be supported by experienced site-based Team Leads, an MSE-wide Children's Therapy Lead, and the Head of Therapies, while working closely with colleagues across children's and adult services.

Main duties of the job
Provide specialist physiotherapy assessment, treatment and management for children and young people across a broad range of paediatric conditions and clinical settings.
Develop advanced clinical skills and expertise in paediatric physiotherapy through the management of complex and varied caseloads.
Deliver evidence-based interventions in both inpatient and outpatient settings, ensuring high-quality, person-centred care.
Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualised treatment programmes to support optimal patient outcomes and development.
Participate in multidisciplinary outpatient clinics, including specialties such as rheumatology, orthopaedics and oncology, contributing to integrated patient care.
Support the delivery of specialist services including hydrotherapy, where required, as part of comprehensive rehabilitation programmes.
Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, patients and families to facilitate effective care planning, education and discharge management.
Gain experience in neonatal physiotherapy and developmental follow-up clinics, contributing to the assessment and ongoing care of infants and children with developmental needs.

- HCPC registration
- Degree or other recognised qualification in Physiotherapy

- Member of Chartered Society of Physiotherapy
- Member of ACPC
Knowledge and Experience
Essential
- Wide ranging post graduate clinical experience in respiratory and orthopaedics / musculoskeletal out-patients
- Experience of working with children
- Evidence of working within MDT
- Experience working within the NHS
Desirable
- Experience of supervising other staff
- Post graduate paediatric physiotherapy experience
