An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Band 6 Paediatric Dietitian to join our dynamic and friendly paediatric dietetic team within Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. This is a 0.9wte 1-year fixed-term post, offered as maternity backfill.

This outpatient-focused role will provide a varied caseload across general paediatric dietetics, allergy and weight management clinics. The post holder will also support the North West London complications of excess weight service (CEW), working closely with the team’s lead consultant and psychologist to deliver coordinated, child- and family-centred care.
Experience in paediatric weight management is desirable, although structured support, supervision and opportunities for professional development will be provided through the CEW team. The role offers an excellent opportunity to further develop specialist paediatric dietetic skills within a forward-thinking and collaborative team.
Main duties of the job
- To provide a quality Nutrition & Dietetic service to both in and outpatients within Paediatrics and Neonates in accordance with established departmental guidelines.
- To provide specialist Nutrition & Dietetic input into education, training and development programmes for undergraduate and postgraduate medical, nursing and dietetic students in addition to other training requirements.
- To contribute to the development and implementation of evidence based nutritional guidelines and service developments in the specialist area.
- Support the Dietetic Lead in the delivery of an efficient, cost effective and high quality Nutrition & Dietetic Service, demonstrating an awareness of financial constraints of budgets for supplements/ prescription in both in and outpatient settings.
- To be able to use relevant statistical and graphical software for data analysis and presentation for producing ad hoc reports and project work as required.
- To maintain accurate and up-to-date records, and ensure the recording of statistical data in line with agreed office processes e.g. triage and vetting of referrals.
- To continually update clinical and research knowledge through literature searches, journal reviews and specialist training.
- To fully participate in the departments’ clinical supervision programmes, including appraisals.
- Excellent keyboard skills for data entry and computer literacy i.e. word processing, presentation packages e.g. PowerPoint and knowledge of spreadsheets e.g. Excel.

- Recent post graduate dietetic experience or equivalent and to also include experience in an acute setting
- Evidence of paediatric workplace shadowing
- Experience of being involved in audit.
- Experience of clinical supervision of students

- Experience of working in paediatric dietetics
Education/ Qualifications
Essential
- Recognised Degree and/or postgraduate diploma
- HCPC registered (Dietitian).
- Evidence of ongoing CPD.
- Supervisory skills training

- Attended recognised paediatric study days
Skills/Knowledge/ Abilities

- Nutritional assessment techniques.
- Use of dietary assessment software.
