This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a growing service that is committed to innovation, collaboration, and delivering outstanding nutritional care for infants, children, and young people across a wide range of specialties.

Whether you are an experienced paediatric dietitian ready for your next challenge or an emerging dietitian with a passion for paediatrics, we would love to hear from you.

About the Team

Our expanding Paediatric Dietetic Service is dynamic, supportive, and forward-thinking. The fixed term funding will help to reduce waiting lists and support implementation of new service development initiatives, whilst the additional permanent posts will help to develop and embed clinical pathways, and support professional development within the team, driving the service forward to better meet the needs of our local population.

Main duties of the job

You will provide specialist dietetic assessment and intervention for children and young people across inpatient and/or outpatient and community settings, supporting families to achieve the very best nutritional outcomes. As this is a new opportunity for service growth, initially allocated caseloads will be generic, but with a clear aim of mapping skill mix and interests to look at developing and utilising clinical expertise in specialist clinics/settings.

We work closely within a truly multidisciplinary environment alongside Consultants, Nurses, Speech & Language Therapists, Health Visitors, other Allied Health Professionals, as well as teams working in education and social care to deliver high-quality, child-centred and family-centred care.

The role offers:

  • Varied and rewarding clinical caseloads
  • Opportunities to lead and shape service development
  • Opportunities for supporting the development of team members and students
  • Close MDT working
  • Teaching and training opportunities
  • Clinical supervision and mentoring
  • Service improvement projects

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Please see job description for full details.

Clinical areas will include a home enteral feeding caseload with a diverse range of conditions, general paediatric in and out patients, including a cows milk protein allergy, multiple allergies, faltering growth, IBD, coeliac disease, selective eating and nutritional health for paediatrics.

You will require good communication and multi-disciplinary team working skills.

The dietetic department is fully committed to CPD and clinical supervision.

As we take A, B and C students from Leeds Beckett University, the post holder will also be expected to take an active role in supporting our student training programme and has potential to be the student lead
