Specialist Occupational Therapy Assistant (Paediatrics)

The Children's Occupational Therapy Team is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Specialist Occupational Therapy Assistant to join us on a permanent full-time basis. Based at St Mary's Hospital in Newport, our service supports children and young people with functional difficulties that impact their self-care, learning and leisure activities.

This exciting role offers an excellent opportunity to gain and develop specialist skills in child development, and physical disability, while working closely with experienced Occupational Therapists.

At present, the Trust is unable to offer Skilled Worker visa sponsorship for this post. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK at the time of application.

Main duties of the job

As a valued member of our team, you will:

*Support Occupational Therapists in delivering interventions for children and young people across a variety of settings, including homes, schools, nurseries and therapy clinics.

*Build positive relationships with children, families, carers and professionals to help achieve meaningful outcomes.

*Deliver tailored treatment programmes and intervention plans under Occupational Therapist guidance.

*Assist the Occupational Therapy Assistants Lead worker Team Lead in managing our therapy waiting lists.

*Work independently and confidently in community, educational and clinical environments.

*Contribute to the smooth running of the service through administrative and record-keeping responsibilities.

*Play an active role in supporting effective teamwork and high-quality care delivery.
