This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly skilled therapy team, working across hospice and community services to provide specialist occupational therapy assessments, goal-focused interventions and practical support. Job responsibilities

SPECIALIST OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST - PALLIATIVE CARE | Band 6 | £20.44 - £24.61 per hour

Contract: Fixed Term of 9 months with the possibility of extension.

Part Time: 15 hours per week (ideally the middle / end of the week).

Location: Winsley, Wiltshire - working across our community (occasional remote working agreed)

WHAT WILL THE ROLE INVOLVE?

As a Specialist Occupational Therapist, you will be an integral member of our multidisciplinary team, providing specialist occupational therapy support for patients with complex palliative care needs. Your responsibilities will include:

Providing specialist occupational therapy assessments, interventions and care planning for patients, families and carers

Championing the rehabilitative palliative care approach to help people maintain independence and achieve personalised goals

Managing a complex caseload and working collaboratively with colleagues across health, social care and voluntary sector services

Providing clinical advice and guidance to colleagues supporting patients with specialist palliative care needs

Supporting and supervising students, volunteers and Clinical Support Assistants where appropriate

Contributing to service development, quality improvement, audit and research activities

Delivering education, training and group-based interventions for patients, carers and professionals

Building strong relationships with community partners and multidisciplinary colleagues across the wider health system
