Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated Podiatrist to join the Podiatry Service as a Band 6 Musculoskeletal (MSK) Podiatrist.

This is a fixed term post to provide cover for absence for specific purpose that we anticipate will be required for 12 Months. We reserve the right to end this contract sooner with appropriate notice.

The post holder will be responsible for delivering high-quality assessment, diagnosis and treatment of patients presenting with a range of MSK foot and ankle conditions. This will include developing and implementing individualised treatment plans, which may include orthotic provision, exercise therapy and patient education, to support effective self-management and improved clinical outcomes.

The role will involve working as part of a MSK team across community and outpatient settings, contributing to the safe, effective and efficient delivery of podiatry services. The post holder will be expected to manage a defined caseload, prioritising patients based on clinical need and service demands.

In addition, the post holder will support the wider team by contributing to service development, clinical supervision and quality improvement activities. They will also provide guidance and support to junior staff, assistants and students where appropriate, helping to maintain high standards of care.

Main duties of the job

To assess, diagnose, develop and implement individualised treatment programmes for patients presenting with a wide range of musculoskeletal (MSK) foot and ankle conditions. This may include the use of orthotic therapy, exercise prescription and patient education.

To plan and manage their own caseload, which will consist of MSK patients.

To provide an efficient, effective and consistently high-quality podiatry service, working independently across community and clinic settings.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to evidence-based practice, continuous professional development and delivering patient-centred care.
