An opportunity has arisen for a full time B6 Musculoskeletal specialists to join the Whipps Cross Therapies team within Barts Health Trust. The post holders will be a qualified Physiotherapist, with experience in MSK. They should be registered with the HCPC, and ideally would have also completed an Orthopaedic inpatient rotation. They should have excellent baseline knowledge of musculoskeletal physiotherapy principles and have experience of treating a variety of peripheral and spinal patients. Assessments and treatments will be through face to face and virtual appointments. Evidence of involvement in project management and audit will be desirable.
Main duties of the job
To provide specialist musculoskeletal physiotherapy treatment to outpatients as part of the overall therapy provision. The post holder will be responsible for their own caseload providing thorough clinical assessment, planning treatment and appropriate discharge from the service adapting practice to suit the needs of the patient. To provide clinical supervision and appraisal to junior staff, therapy assistants and students.

- • Ability to organise and prioritise own and more junior staffs workload and supervise support staff in this field.
- • Ability to work autonomously and set own priorities and support other staff in this field.
- • Demonstrate understanding and previous participation in activity to support the clinical governance agenda
- • In-depth knowledge of national policies and procedures relevant to client group
- • To contribute toward working on the inpatient weekend rota.
- • Ability to maintain respiratory competency to be able to perform emergency on-call physiotherapy duties
Experience
Essential
- • Appropriate post registration experience
- • Documented evidence of CPD, in accordance with HCPC recommendations
- • Experience of working as part of a team uni-professional and multi- professional team
- • Advice, supervision, appraisal, training and support to more junior staff, support staff and students.
Desirable
- • Experience of audit/research.
