Job overview

To promote continuous professional development of Registered Nurses, Nursing Associates, Health Care Assistants and Nursing Students across Ealing Community Partners/ Trustwide. To contribute to the development and delivery of continuing professional development opportunities for nurses, Nursing Associates Health care assistants, students, including the support and development of practice placements, new inductees and pre/post registered students. Competent in the role of practice supervisor and assessor, ensuring that placements and support for nursing learners are of a high standard in line with NMC requirements. Contributing to the delivery of nursing preceptorship across the trust and supporting the delivery of key nursing education and quality assurance projects such as nursing recruitment and retention activity, and the development of internationally educated nurses. Contribute to the development and use of systems to audit, assess and evaluate standards of practice. role model best practice in relation to Service User and Carer engagement.

Main duties of the job

  • Contribute to supporting and developing practice placements and the practice supervisor and assessor role, ensuring that placements and support for nursing learners are of a high standard in line with NMC requirements
  • Contribute to ensuring that continuous professional development opportunities are available for nursing staff; supporting the delivery of key nursing education and quality assurance projects such as nursing recruitment and retention activity, and the development of internationally educated nurses.
  • Contribute to ensuring there are robust systems of effective secondary induction and preceptorship for staff, in line with HEE preceptorship framework.
  • Undertake audit of clinical activity, performance and health outcome.
  • Support the dissemination and introduction of practice standards related to competency expectations for registered nurses.
  • Make a contribution to clinical supervision arrangements.
  • Contribute to the monitoring and audit of clinical supervision activity.
  • Provide direct training and teaching to nurses.
