Annex 21 - 18 month training programme for a Band 6 post
The post is offered as an Annex 21 position for applicants who do not hold the full qualifications and will be considered for a trainee position and will be subject to NHS Wales Annex 21 as set out within the NHS Wales Terms & Conditions of Employment. The successful candidate will undertake a structured training programme and will receive 70% of the substantive band salary in year 1 and 75% in year 2 until all required competencies and qualifications for the role are achieved.
We are looking for an enthusiastic Cardiac Physiologist/Healthcare Scientists to join our team working across Swansea Bay University Health Board during this training period you will obtain the relevant professional body exams, training and experience to meet the full competency framework of this Band 6 and will be able to undertake all duties within the Specialist Cardiac Physiologist Role as indicated within this job description

Morriston hospital is a tertiary centre that provides a wide range of invasive and non-invasive cardiac investigations.
We are seeking motivated individuals to integrate into the team, who have experience and knowledge in a wide range of cardiac investigations. Candidates should be enthusiastic and dedicated to providing excellent patient care.
Main duties of the job
The department offers a wide range of invasive and non-invasive investigations. Investigations include physiologist-led exercise testing, 24 hour ECG and BP monitoring and event recording. We provide a 24-hour primary PCI service alongside complex PCI and interventional techniques, TAVI service. We operate a busy Pacemaker and ICD implant and follow up service to include the use of remote monitoring, EPS + complex ablation and mapping procedures. We also carry out Physiology led clinics. The department is a teaching Hospital and is actively involved in research. We are also participating in a number of clinical research trials. Suitable candidates would hold a BSc. Clinical Physiology (Cardiology), STP Msc. Cardiac Science or PTP Bsc. Cardiac Science. Hold registration with AHCS or HCPC.
