An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Specialist Pharmacist to join the Pharmacy department’s Electronic Prescribing and Medicines Administration (ePMA) Team
You will support the work of the Team to develop and promote safe use of the ePMA system and Pharmacy system to all users, broadening the availability and competent use of the electronic drug chart across the Trust’s Acute and Community sites. The focus of this fixed term post will be to help configure and successfully deploy our medicines related modules for the Nervecentre ePR.
Main duties of the job
You will be responsible for the validation of the clinical aspects of the configuration following established governance systems, working with all grades of staff and building relationships with clinicians. You will contribute to the quality and safety of the system, through configuration and review. Your excellent communication skills will help you advise on clinical and system function related information to non-technical individuals and work closely with all stakeholders. You will aid Trust training of ePMA through varying media. You will be an essential member of the team throughout the build and the go-lives for the medicines related modules
We are looking for a friendly and flexible experienced clinical pharmacist, ideally including hospital pharmacy, to seamlessly integrate with the existing team. Can plan and co-ordinate their day-to-day activities taking the needs of the service into consideration. Collaborative working is essential and your contribution to the teams is invaluable. You will have understanding and experience in the use of digital systems in the clinical setting and have an enthusiasm for promoting further development and use.
Our pharmacy service is provided across all Trust locations in Eastbourne, Hastings, Bexhill and Rye and the post holder will be expected to work flexibly and at any site.

Experience

- Experience of patient facing practice or evidence of the application of skills/practice that are suitable for foundation to advanced practice.
- Experience of working autonomously with clinicians as a clinical pharmacist
Desirable
- Experience of carrying out medicine reviews and medicines reconciliation for patients on discharge from hospital (one of key objectives for progression)
- Previous experience in mentoring and training staff especially around the use of digital systems and processes
- Experience in using and developing specialist digital systems, retrieving clinical information and producing reports
- Experience in digital transformation and change management processes
Qualifications
Essential
- BSc (Pharmacy) / BPharm / MPharm
- GPhC Registration (Vocational Master’s degree in Pharmacy (4yrs) and 1 year’s pre-registration training and experience)
- CPD portfolio that demonstrates an ongoing commitment to personal development
- Certificate in Clinical Pharmacy or pharmacy practice or other equivalent post-graduate qualification/pathway completion
- Recognised qualification as Practice and/or Educational Supervisor or equivalent role/experience
Desirable
- Certificate in Clinical Pharmacy or pharmacy practice / other equivalent
- Post-graduate qualification
- RPS Foundation Programme completion
- Training in change management
