Job overview
We are looking to recruit a motivated and experienced Specialist Cardiac Physiologist into our Arrhythmia (CRM, Ambulatory, ETT, Tilt, ILR) and Interventional Cardiology (Cath Lab) team.
The post would also suit experienced Cardiac Physiologists who are looking to further develop their Arrhythmia and Interventional Cardiology skills.
Salary would be adjusted dependent on qualifications and experience.
This is a fixed term post. Applicants will need to demonstrate proven competency.
Main duties of the job
The main duties of this post includes:
- Working in the cardiac catheter lab, with involvement in angiograms and PCI procedures. You would also be expected to participate in the Primary PCI on call service.
- Ambulatory analysis
- ETT’s
- Tilt tests
- Participating in CRM follow up and implants
- ILR follow up
Detailed job description and main responsibilities

- Provide specialist physiological support during cardiac catheterisation and interventional cardiology procedures in the Cath Lab.
- Deliver specialist cardiac diagnostic testing, including ECGs, ambulatory monitoring, exercise tolerance testing, tilt table testing and ILR services.
- Analyse and interpret complex cardiac investigations, producing accurate clinical reports and escalating significant findings appropriately.
- Support cardiac rhythm management services, including pacemaker, ICD and CRT implantation and follow-up clinics.
- Deliver high-quality patient care, education and support while working closely with the multidisciplinary team.
- Participate in emergency and Primary PCI on-call services, quality improvement, audit, staff training and service development.
This is an exciting time to join our team, as we have expanded and improved our services. We are now a three site department, City and Sandwell Health Campuses and the new Midland Metropolitan University Hospital, where our third catheter lab has recently opened, bringing together all acute services onto one site.

- Significant clinical experience post qualification
- Documented evidence of training and competence in specialised investigations enabling unsupervised work
Qualifications

- BSc in Clinical Physiology or BTEC/HTEC/HND in MPPM /DipHE in clinical physiology with significant clinical experience (equivalent to BSc)
- ASCST parts 1 and 2 professional qualifications or equivalent
Desirable
- Valid RCCP registration
- BHRS accreditation
