An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, experienced and forward-thinking nurse to join our Senior Nursing Team on Ward 2.

Main duties of the job

Working closely with the Ward Manager, Matron and Sisters, the successful candidate will support the leadership, management and ongoing development of Ward 2, ensuring our patients consistently receive the highest standards of care.

The role includes caring for patients receiving:

  • Anti-cancer therapies
  • Specialist symptom support
  • Acute oncology care
  • Supportive and palliative care
  • End of life care

This is a rewarding and varied role requiring clinical expertise, emotional intelligence, resilience and leadership.

  • You will:Support and lead nursing teams within a fast-paced specialist environment.
  • Deliver and coordinate outstanding patient-centred care.
  • Support patients and families with empathy, dignity and compassion.
  • Care for acutely unwell patients with complex needs.
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Contribute to quality improvement and service development.
  • Support and develop students, support workers and junior staff.
  • Help shape a positive and supportive ward culture.
