An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, motivated, professional Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse to join the Ophthalmology Outpatient Department.
The applicant must have excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills. Desirable Ophthalmology Knowledge and skills.
Have management and ophthalmology outpatient experience.
Be able to demonstrate good knowledge of ophthalmic nursing conditions and skills, supported by an understanding of current issues in NHS outpatient services. Willingness to undertake further professional development within this exciting speciality.
Informal visits are welcome.
Main duties of the job
Provide a high standard of individualised care to patients, acting as a role model to the wider ophthalmic multidisciplinary team.
Supporting the Matron in driving quality care provision forward.
Be responsible for standards of cleanliness/ Health and Safety in clinical areas.
Provide clear clinical leadership to staff, running a smooth, timely clinical activity, and deputising for the Matron her/his absence.
