NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. The NHS GGC GP Out of Hours (OOHs) service provides urgent clinical services to GGC population, during the OOH period, 6pm to 8am Monday to Friday and 24hrs on Saturday, Sunday and on Public Holidays when GP Practices are closed. Patients are assessed mainly by NHS 24 and following that either asked to attend one of the Primary Care Emergency Centres or a clinician will visit at home and assess or have a remote consultation.

Based in our various OOH services, you’ll be working autonomously within your sphere of competency as a clinician in a multi-skilled team through our house visiting service, OOHs locations or remote consultations.
Candidates should be fully registered in the GMC register for General Practice with a licence to practice and have been awarded a CCT in General Practice or have completed equivalent vocational training in General Practice. Candidates should have recent experience of working in a comparable Primary Care OOH service.
