An exciting opportunity has arisen for a service manager within Foxgrove NSAIS based at Ayrshire Central Hospital. Foxgrove is the National Secure Adolescent Inpatient Service (NSAIS) providing a 12 bedded specialist clinical services for all of the territorial Health Boards of NHS Scotland. It provides a secure clinical environment comparable to Regional adult medium secure in-patient mental health facilities.
It aims to develop and deliver a highly specialist, evidence based services, incorporating a multi-agency/disciplinary assessment, diagnosis and treatment for children and young people:
• aged 12 years to 18th birthday
• who pose a risk to others
• and are subject to mental health legislation,
Foxgrove will provide:
Hours and Shift Pattern:
36 hours per week.
Requirement for on call participation for NHS Ayrshire and Arran Management Structures
What you will do:
An exciting role within a highly specialist team.
The Foxgrove Service Manager is responsible for providing effective and continuing day to day operational management to all staff working within the Foxgrove. The role leads and supports the interface between the nursing, allied health, security, psychological therapies, medical and other staff disciplines to support full integration of the multidisciplinary and multi agency teams. Responsibility is also given to ensure that the clinical contribution to service delivery is of the highest quality and is one that enhances the patient experience through the provision of safe, effective, efficient, timely, equitable and person centred care.
You should be aware that this is a new service which will evolve over time and therefore you should be equipped with refined leadership and management skills which will not only allow you to take pre-existing staff colleagues with you but recruit and retain new ones into the service.
Highly developed communication skills are therefore essential as is experience in leading and managing highly functioning multi-disciplinary services or teams.
