Job summary

Provide high-quality scrub assistance across agreed surgical specialties Prepare, check, and manage surgical instruments, equipment, and consumables Maintain strict aseptic technique and comply with Infection Prevention and Control standards Actively participate in WHO Surgical Safety Checklists and local NatSSIPs processes Support safe and efficient patient flow within a day-case theatre setting Contribute to clinical governance, audit activity, and continuous service improvement Work collaboratively with surgeons, anaesthetists, recovery staff, and ward teams

Main duties of the job

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Theatre Scrub Practitioner to join our busy and well-established day surgery service. The post holder will work as a senior member of staff in a multidisciplinary theatre team, delivering safe, effective, and efficient care in line with professional standards, national guidance, and local policies. This role is ideal for a practitioner who values teamwork, high clinical standards, and the predictability of a day-surgery environment.
