We’re looking for motivated and enthusiastic Band 6 Neonatal Nurses to join our team. While leadership experience is an advantage, it’s not essential—we also welcome applications from senior Band 5 nurses ready to progress. With full training and support provided, this is an excellent opportunity to develop your expertise, grow into a leadership role, and make a real difference in neonatal care.

To work with the NNU team in the provision of safe, effective and efficient management of the department within allocated resources

To promote a progressive attitude to the continual improvement of patient care through research and evidence-based practice

To regularly undertake delegated responsibility for the department in the absence of NNU Sisters and Unit Manager

Main duties of the job

To be a clinical expert within the speciality, with the ability to offer all aspects of nursing care at intensive, high dependency and special care levels.

To ensure the provision of excellent, evidence-based care for infants and their families.

Ensure that each infant is assessed, their care is planned, implemented and evaluated in negotiation with the family, and that this is accurately documented.

Promote Family Centred Care and ensure the provision of a welcoming, caring and safe environment for the infants and their families.

To act as an advocate for the infant and family, ensuring the provision of appropriate information and support services.
