Job overview

Are you looking for a role where you can make a meaningful impact every day, using your skills, experience, and compassion to provide high quality patient care?

Imagine living in Cornwall — a county renowned for its stunning natural beauty, with rugged coastlines, picturesque countryside, and some of the best beaches in the UK.  With millions of visitors each year, this could be your opportunity to call Cornwall home and contribute to the wellbeing of our community.

An exciting and unique opportunity has  arisen at Longreach House. Based in Redruth, Longreach is an adult acute mental health unit working with service users from a wide range of backgrounds and cultures who are experiencing an acute episode of mental health difficulties.

We are looking to appoint a Senior Staff Nurse who is passionate about providing safe and quality care.

Our emphasis is on providing a therapeutic environment, offering a holistic approach to treatment in a safe and supported space which promotes rehabilitation and recovery. We work with various professionals, carers and community staff to ensure effective delivery of care and a planned, safe and timely discharge.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be required to take a leadership role on the ward, deputising for the ward manager when required, oversee the day to day running of the ward and be responsible for providing high quality clinical leadership to the in-patient multi-disciplinary team through supervision and direction.

The appointee will be required to work rotational shifts including weekends and bank holidays as necessary, with a flexible manner to ensure a seamless whole service approach.

Safe and effective delivery of care will be expected alongside compliance with The Nursing and Midwifery Councils Code of Professional Conduct.
