Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our excellent Adult Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Physiotherapy team here at Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust. This post is a static, specialist role, within our supra-regional Cystic Fibrosis Centre based across St Jamess University Hospital and Seacroft Hospital. As a static member of our team, you will be responsible for providing specialist assessment, management and treatment of a range of patients with chronic suppurative lung disease. This caseload includes Cystic Fibrosis, Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia and Bronchiectasis in both in-patient and out-patient settings. Due to the changing landscape of Cystic Fibrosis management, MSK experience is desirable. You will be part of a supportive and highly experienced team who will empower you to manage your own caseload and deliver high-quality care to these complex patient groups. A flexible and pro-active approach is essential for this post as are excellent communication and team working skills. Key responsibilities will include the education and development of staff and students, audit, research and clinical effectiveness as well as service review and evaluation. You must be organised, flexible and able to empower others. You will work closely with your Senior Team and have the opportunity to assist in operational management and service improvement. This is a cross-site role and requires the successful applicant to have the ability to travel between St Jamess University Hospital and Sea
Main duties of the job
To provide specialist assessment, treatment and on-going care for adults with Cystic Fibrosis, Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia and Bronchiectasis at Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust. As a supra-regional service, education and liaison with other health care professionals and carers is as essential as the direct patient care. The Leeds Adult Cystic Fibrosis Unit is based on a strong MDT model where the physiotherapists are core members of the team. The Unit is based on a purpose built facility St Jamess Hospital, which accommodates both in-patients and day attenders. Out patient clinics are provided at Seacroft Hospital. The post holder may be expected to perform community visits, and travel between sites. Patients can present with complex and challenging problems, from diagnosis to terminal care, therefore the post holder will feel confident in their respiratory knowledge while having transferable acute, rehabilitation and musculoskeletal skills.
