We are looking for Physiotherapists to join our Band 6 Rotation with a strong focus on rehabilitation across Community Therapy Services (CTS), Mental Health Inpatients, Home First and Community Children's Integrated Therapies. This role is ideally suited to Physiotherapists who are keen to further develop their clinical skills and experience across diverse service areas. We welcome applications from current Band 6s or experienced Band 5s ready to progress.
You will join either the rotation in the Home First service or Community Children's Integrated Therapies.
Home First Oxfordshire is a countywide service that brings three important services together, all of which are carried out by social and health care teams in partnership with carefully selected care providers.
The Community Children's Integrated Therapy service provides Physiotherapy for children in their homes and in schools and the role is based in Oxford City.
This variety of experience will provide you with a breadth of knowledge and clinical skills, as well as developing your managerial and service development skills.
We will require you to be able to travel across Oxfordshire for both of these roles.
Applicants must have a full valid UK driving license and have access to a vehicle for work. Adjustments can be considered in line with the Equality Act 2010 where required.
Main duties of the job
This is a rotational post across different clinical areas within Oxford Health, where you will provide a high standard of Physiotherapy assessment and treatment to the population of Oxfordshire in various community and inpatient settings. The rotations take place across multiple services, with potential to expand into additional clinical areas in the future.
- To deliver a safe and effective rehabilitative patient care, working in partnership with colleagues in the multidisciplinary team within the community and acute sectors
- Provide safe, effective reablement and rehabilitation in patient's own homes across Oxfordshire.
- Assess, plan, and deliver patient-specific care.
- Communicate clearly, document accurately, and manage risk.
- Support audits, infection control, and governance standards.
- Supervise staff and students; manage resources and KPIs.
- Contribute to service improvements and protocol development.
- Ensure safety of patients, staff, and property.
- Act as role model; promote evidence-based practice.
- Provide specialist advice and training.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
- Deliver safe, effective, patient-centred rehabilitation care in partnership with the MDT.
- Work flexibly across settings (community, acute, weekends, extended hours) to meet service needs.
- Collaborate with MDTs to optimise care packages and patient outcomes.
- Monitor progress, adapt treatment plans, and develop effective discharge and ongoing care arrangements.
- Manage clinical risk, maintain accurate documentation, and uphold governance, safeguarding, and infection control standards.
- Supervise and support junior staff, students, and assistants, contributing to team development and service delivery.
- You may be required to work evenings and weekends on occasion with prior notice.

- IT skills for clinical notes, MS Office etc.
- Ability to work in a stressful working environment with emotional or aggressive patients/or carers and manage stressful, upsetting or emotional situations in and empathetic manner supporting other members of the Team, clients and families
Knowledge
Essential
- Good knowledge and skills in elderly care/rehabilitation
- Understanding and experience of Risk Management
- Good understanding of Clinical Governance
- Comprehension and ability to work within organisational policies and to meet the diverse needs of patients
Desirable
- Awareness of National and local issues concerning this client group
Experience
Essential
- Extensive experience in variety of care settings and care groups
- Experience of managing complex patient caseloads and developing management plans based on advanced clinical reasoning
- Experience of supervising other staff or students
Desirable
- Post graduate qualification in subject related to rehabilitation
- MSc or equivalent qualification eg. Advanced Physiotherapy or Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment
