Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our excellent Adult Respiratory Physiotherapy team here at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. This is a specialist respiratory post, rotating annually across multiple specialist areas based at St James University hospital and Leeds General Infirmary. Rotations include Critical Care, Cystic Fibrosis, General Surgery, Cardiac Surgery, Thoracic Surgery and Respiratory Medicine.
Main duties of the job
You will be responsible for providing specialist assessment, management and treatment of a range of patients within these specialities. You will be part of a supportive and experienced team who will empower you to manage your own caseload and deliver high-quality care to complex patient groups. You will be an integral part of your Physiotherapy department and the wider MDT. A flexible and pro-active approach is essential for this post as are excellent communication and team working skills. Key responsibilities will include the education and development of staff and students, audit, research and clinical effectiveness as well as service review and evaluation. You must be organised, flexible and able to empower others. You will work closely with your Senior Team and have the opportunity to assist in operational management and service improvement. Services are provided seven days per week, so you will be expected to work at weekends at a frequency of approximately 1 in 4 weekends (variable). Participation in the on-call rota is also required.
