An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Pharmacy Dispensary Assistant to join the Pharmacy Department Team at Chelsea & Westminster NHS Foundation Trust l (West Middlesex Site).
We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Assistant who is willing to work within a supportive Pharmacy team keen to develop the pharmacy services. The post holder must possess excellent interpersonal, problem solving and time management skills and able to work with a wide range of professionals. The successful candidate will be based in the Dispensary and will be required to work weekends and bank holidays. Previous experience of working in a pharmacy hospital is essential.
Main duties of the job
- To manage stock control and be a super user for the Rowa
- Training rotational assistants and other grades of staffing
- Dispense medication in the Inpatient and Outpatient dispensary
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
STOCK & INVENTORY
- Stock control management including putting stock away received from stores, rotating stock/checking expiries where relevant and performing stock control counts.
- Ensure dispensary areas are sufficiently stocked with all sundries (leaflets, cards, bottles, bags).
- Sort, count, compile and, where relevant, dispose of unsuitable medication returns.
- Carry out daily monitoring of fridge and dispensary temperatures.
- To release and order stock from Stores.
- To be a ROWA Super user and provide training where required.
- To monitor all “to follows” drugs
- General housekeeping of ROWA.
- Adjust stock/expired stock investigations.
