Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our friendly team at The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust, working as a part time senior pharmacist for children's services.

The successful candidate will be an integral member of  a well-established team, supporting clinical excellence and operational efficiencies.

You will work alongside our other senior children's services pharmacists and our neonatal and women's pharmacists.

We are looking for a dynamic and committed pharmacist with excellent clinical and communication skills, to lead the delivery our specialised paediatric service.

Main duties of the job

Each senior children's services pharmacist will be expected to lead on a number of areas that may include the following: 1. Paediatric acute service – inpatient areas 2. Paediatric community services 3. Paediatric High Dependency Unit 4. Paediatric antimicrobial stewardship including OPAT 5. Paediatric virtual wards 6. Paediatric outpatients including homecare and daycase

Provide specialist clinical pharmacy support and advice to the paediatric speciality, demonstrating in-depth clinical knowledge and a high level of clinical effectiveness.

Manage the day-to-day delivery of clinical pharmacy services to the paediatric directorate, ensuring efficient, safe and effective use of resources.

Undertake teaching and clinical supervision of pharmacy staff and other healthcare professionals.

Work with the clinical and governance teams to develop guidelines, protocols and policies within the paediatric services.
