Job overview
Are you a passionate and experienced audiologist looking to make a real difference in patients’ lives? Kettering General Hospital is seeking a motivated professional to join our dynamic Audiology Department. While our department serves both adults and children, this role focuses primarily on paediatric audiology, providing care for UHN patients at our Kettering site. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills, contribute to a supportive team, and help shape the future of audiology services in our hospital.
Ideally we are looking for a Band 6 Paediatric Audiologist, although this post would also be suitable for an experienced Band 5 Adult Audiologist who is keen to develop their skills within the paediatric field, with a development pathway in place to support progression. The successful candidate will gain hands-on experience across assessment, fitting and verification of the paediatric population, working closely with children, families, and the wider multidisciplinary team. You will be supported through training and ongoing professional development to build confidence and expertise in paediatric audiology. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about delivering high-quality, child-centred care and looking to take the next step in their career within a supportive and forward-thinking service.
Main duties of the job
- Conduct age-appropriate audiological assessments for children aged 6 months to 18 years, including behavioral and objective testing methods. Experience with objective assessments is highly desirable.
- Lead Visual Reinforcement Audiometry (VRA) clinics, interpreting results to make confident clinical decisions.
- Perform paediatric hearing aid verification and validation, ensuring children receive optimal auditory support.
- Communicate results and recommendations to parents and carers with empathy, clarity, and sensitivity.
- Support adult audiology services as needed, including assessments, hearing aid fittings, repairs, and ENT cover.
Please note that this position is based within a clinical setting. Should your application be successful, you will be required to attend a face-to-face interview.
