Job overview

Applications are invited for a post of a Senior Neonatal Fellow commencing December 2026.

This is an exciting opportunity to consolidate practical procedures and clinical skills relevant to tertiary neonatal intensive care. These will include but not be limited to: airway management and intubation, peripheral arterial cannulation, umbilical catheterisation, intercostal drains, long-line insertion, cranial ultrasound and echocardiography.

There are numerous opportunities to gain experience in NICU and there may also be opportunities appropriate to the level of the fellow’s experience in antenatal counselling of high risk pregnancies, and follow-up including neurodevelopmental clinics.

Neonatal transport

The transport service runs a parallel rota alongside the neonatal service and if the Fellow wishes, training opportunities as such can potentially be facilitated. The progression to independent transport practitioner would be supported by an extensive induction programme and subject to attainment of appropriate competencies for safe and effective neonatal transport. Training will be provided in neonatal transport and with all equipment used by the service.
