Job summary
This is a fantastic opportunity to join our cancer services team on a 12-month fixed term contract and play an important part in supporting timely, coordinated care for patients. At the heart of the role is keeping communication flowing between the teams involved in each patient's care. You will be a key point of contact for MDT activity, helping colleagues stay informed, resolving issues and ensuring meetings run effectively from start to finish.
Main duties of the job
Coordinate cancer MDT meetings to ensure clinical teams have the information they need to make timely decisions Prepare agendas, patient lists and supporting documents so each case is ready for discussion Work with clinical and administrative colleagues to gather any missing information and avoid delays to patient care Arrange reviews of external scans and tissue samples when required Attend meetings and accurately record diagnoses, treatment recommendations and agreed actions Share MDT outcomes securely and promptly so the relevant teams can progress each patient's care Maintain accurate records, databases and reports to support audits and service improvement Support virtual and urgent MDT meetings to help patients receive timely decisions Help improve the MDT service so it continues to meet the needs of patients and clinical teams Guide and support MDT Coordinators, provide team cover and deputise for the MDT Manager when required

Job Title: Senior MDT Coordinator Department: Cancer Services Location: 20 Devonshire Place, London, W1G 6BW Salary: £33,985 Hours: 37.5 Monday to Friday, including some evenings Contract: 12 Months Fixed-Term Contract A little about the role This is a fantastic opportunity to join our cancer services team on a 12-month fixed term contract and play an important part in supporting timely, coordinated care for patients. We are looking for someone who is highly organised, confident working with a range of people and able to handle sensitive information with accuracy and discretion. You will enjoy bringing people together, building strong relationships and making sure nothing important is missed. MDT meetings bring together healthcare professionals from different specialities to discuss each patient's diagnosis, treatment options and ongoing care. At the heart of the role is keeping communication flowing between the teams involved in each patient's care. You will be a key point of contact for MDT activity, helping colleagues stay informed, resolving issues and ensuring meetings run effectively from start to finish. You will work closely with Consultants, Nurse Specialists and colleagues across Radiology, Pathology and administration. As a senior member of the team, you will also support and guide MDT Coordinators, provide cover when needed and deputise for the MDT Manager. What you'll be doing

Previous experience in an administrative or coordination role within a healthcare setting
Excellent organisation, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with confidence working across clinical and non-clinical teams
Experience maintaining accurate databases and reports, with confidence using Microsoft Office and meeting technology
A calm, professional and sensitive approach when handling confidential patient information
The flexibility to attend some evening MDT meetings when required
