Clinical Engineering at UHL is responsible for life cycle management of Medical devices across the trust and some of the neighbouring community hospitals.
It is the responsibility of Clinical Engineering to ensure equipment operates effectively and safely with a minimum of downtime, and equipment and its management represents value for money. Clinical equipment covered incorporates electrical, electronic, mechanical, computer software and medical gas systems.
This Role is on a fixed term contract of 12 months to support the Maternity departments across two site within the trust, these are based at the Leicester Royal Infirmary and Leicester General Hospital.
The successful candidate will be expected to manage their own workload to be able to provide support and be flexible across both site. They will need to show a presence on each site throughout the working week.

The Medical Equipment Management Service (MEMS) requires a dynamic medical equipment Senior Maintenance Assistant, to take a key role within the service. This is a demanding position and you will play a major part in achieving service objectives in a busy and technically challenging environment governed by an ISO9001 quality system.
The successful candidate will have the ability to self manage and prioritise the direction of their day to day activities to achieve timely completion of repair, planned maintenance and associated equipment management tasks and be part of the blood gas analyser on-call service. The maintenance role is performed both in-house and at various customer sites throughout Leicestershire. A driving licence and own transport are essential.
Applicants must be qualified to HNC in electronics or equivalent, and it is desirable that you have previous knowledge of servicing medical devices. Technical training will be available.
You will have a safety conscious approach to your work and the ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels. An ability to cope under pressure, be adaptable and multi-task is required. Experience of using an equipment database and associated IT skills will be a distinct advantage.
