Position:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for highly motivated individuals to join the Elderly Mental Health Inpatient team as band 3 Senior Health Care Support Workers within Clonbeith and Dunure wards at Ailsa Hospital in Ayr and ward 3 in Woodland View, Irvine.
What you will do:
The Senior HCSW works as part of the multidisciplinary team carrying out a range of personal care activities, clinical care tasks and other duties as delegated by and in support of a Registered Nurse.
In partnership with the Registered Nurse, the Senior HCSW will be responsible for delivering person centred care, evidence based, recovery-focused interventions and will also promote collaborative working within a multi-disciplinary team and across multi agency services.
This opportunity is available to individuals who have a genuine interest in working with older people with a wide range of mental health problems. Previous experience with this patients group is desirable but not essential as training will be provided.
The successful candidates will be responsible for delivering person centred care, evidence based, recovery-focused interventions and will also promote collaborative working within a multi-disciplinary team and across multi agency services.
Applications are welcomed from individuals who will work as a key component of a multidisciplinary team and as such should have excellent communication, interpersonal and time management skills along with a positive attitude and proven ability to work as part of a team.
Applicants must be willing to undertake training to develop skills and competencies as required.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:
