Ellis Ward is the only male acute ward within the Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. It is a 18-bedded male-only acute ward with an additional one bed allocated for emergency admissions.  The ward is for adults between the ages of (18-65) who are experiencing acute mental health difficulties.

Main duties of the job

Under the supervision of a registered nurse participate in the development, implementation and maintenance of high quality care within a ward environment, through involvement in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care.

We offer 24 hour services within our Inpatient, Bed management, PCDU, Crisis and SPA teams, if you are successfully appointed to posts in these areas or others that might have specified, you will be required to work unsociable hours inclusive of nights and weekends and public holidays and shift patterns.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

To work within the policies, protocols and clinical procedures of Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Trust and to promote competent working practice within an integrated multi-disciplinary team.

To liaise with the nurses, and carry out assigned duties as a member of the multi- disciplinary mental health team.

To be prepared to work on own initiative as necessary and report to the Nurses.

Promote equality for all patients and understand their health needs.

Demonstrate an awareness of service user and carer perspectives on the provision of treatment and continuing care.

Participate regularly in clinical supervision sessions.

Liaise with representatives from associated voluntary and statutory organisations and facilitate good communication processes.

Attend in-service training and other study / refresher days to meet individual, statutory and service needs.
