Job overview

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Senior Clinical Support Worker to join our busy ophthalmology team.
Main duties of the job
In this post you will be responsible for providing some basic elements of patient care, assisting with procedures/chaperoning and organising the daily running of the clinics.
Your main clinic tasks will include perfoming patient vision tests and in supporting all clinics including:
- Macula Clinic
- Pre assessment Clinic
- Main Ophthalmology Clinic
- County Eye Clinic
- Poswillo Cataract Suite
- Emergency Eye Clini
Please note that if you are selected for an interview there will be a pre-interview English and Numeracy test for this role.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
- Supporting/chaperoning patients during procedures and assisting the team where necessary.
- Organisation and running of individual clinics
- Removal of dressings and some simple dressing under supervision
- Patient observations, height weight and BMI
- Ensuring high standards of patient care and experience are met.
- Performing Vision Tests
- IOP readings
- Colour Vision Tests
- Assisting in theatre
- Booking appointments and adding patient referrals
