At present, University Hospitals of North Midlands is unable to offer visa sponsorship for Band 2 to Band 4 roles, as these positions do not meet the minimum salary and skill thresholds required under UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) regulations.
In relation to Band 3 Senior Clinical Support Worker roles, we are currently able to recruit successfully from the domestic labour market and have a sufficient pool of suitably qualified and appointable candidates. As a result, visa sponsorship is not available for this role at this time. This position is kept under regular review and may change in the future should labour market conditions or service requirements alter.
Main duties of the job
We are a busy 31 to 41 bedded Acute Medical Unit that deals with a range of medical conditions. We receive patients directly from A&E, the Medical Receiving Unit and other areas of the hospital.
There is a high turnover of patients and a fast pace of work and we have high expectations regarding the quality of care provided to our patients. The care we provide has a focus of compassion & competence in order to give our patients the best possible care we can.
It is important to give you a supernumerary period to ensure that you have time to orientate yourself to your new environment.

As per the Job Description please ensure you meet the following criteria before applying:
- Numeracy/Literacy skills to Level 1 (GCSE Grade 2-3, D-F or equivalent) IELTS or OETS (Overall score of C1) accepted for overseas applicants (Level 7 in Listening/speaking/reading & Level 6.5 in Writing)
- Hold a Care Certificate or complete within 12 weeks of commencing employment.
- NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Care/Equivalent qualification or willing to complete if successful once applicant commences post (If applicant has 3 years or more care experience this is voluntary).
- Minimum of 12 months care experience
You will not be considered for shortlisting if you do not meet the above criteria.
Additionally, you will be required to undertake a condensed UHNM Maths & English test at interview to show good Literacy and Numeracy level. The test consists of 3 Maths questions and 3 English questions. All of the questions must be answered correctly for the interview to proceed.

- NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or willing to complete if successful as mandatory requirement of employment (NVQ MUST be from an accredited awarding body). For applicants with more than 3 years experience, this is voluntary
