Applications are invited from enthusiastic candidates for the post of Senior Fellow in Complex Coronary Intervention based at the Golden Jubilee University National Hospital. The hospital is the UK’s largest PCI centre performing 3000 PCI’s per year.
The successful applicant can expect to perform 500 PCI’s during the fellowship, the majority as first operator. They will receive exposure and training in all aspects of complex coronary intervention with specific emphasis on the use of intravascular imaging and adjunctive devices. Furthermore they will receive focused training in left main stem, bifurcation, multi-vessel PCI and will contribute to our CTO programme.
You can expect 3 – 4 extended days in the Cath Lab per week. The remainder of the week will be associated with coronary intervention based research. There will be access to additional educational opportunities including coronary and valve MDT’s, monthly regional CME meetings monthly M&M meetings and locally organised cardiology training programmes.
There may be a requirement for participation in the out of hours clinical fellow rota.
The post, which will start in August 2026, is for a fixed term of 12 months in the first instance.

Experience
Essential
- Experience in Interventional Cardiology
- Full training in diagnostic angiography
- Basic first operator experience in coronary angiography
- Evidence of completed research and/or audit projects
Desirable
- Extensive first operator PCI experience
- Knowledge and experience in adjunctive devices (IVUS/ OCT/ IVL/ HSRA)
Qualifications
Essential
- Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC)
- MRCP(UK) or equivalent qualification
Desirable
- Higher Degree
