Position:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent Senior Charge Nurse based at the Orthopaedic Trauma Unit at University Hospital Crosshouse.
What you will do:
As part of the Leadership Team within the Hospital, key responsibilities include the human resource and financial management of the ward. You will ensure the 24 hour nursing service is covered by appropriate rostering and skill mix, facilitate multi-disciplinary team working and monitor/participate in patient care provision.
You will work within agreed nursing standards and according to Nursing and Midwifery Council Code for nurses and be accountable for nursing outcomes.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:
We are seeking individuals who have excellent communication and organisational skills that can excel in a highly pressured environment in order to collaborate with all members of the Multi-Disciplinary Team, ensuring the patient journey is positive and safe and care is delivered in a manner which is both professional and person centred.
• You willl be a Registered Nurse with current Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC) registration and extensive post registration experience at a senior level within the specialty.• A degree/specialist qualification or equivalent experience is essential.• Working knowledge of the organisation’s Policies and Procedures.• Ability to keep relevant skills / knowledge updated and documented.• Well developed written and verbal communication skills.• Be able to supervise and provide a mentorship role to students and junior staff.• A commitment to lifelong learning and demonstrates evidence of continuing professional development.
