The Senior Care - Nights position at Avery Healthcare in Knowle is a permanent role offering £13.85 per hour. As part of the award-winning team at Birchmere Mews Care Home in Solihull, the Senior Care Assistant will focus on providing and supporting care alongside the team to deliver high-quality personal care, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment. Responsibilities include monitoring residents wellbeing, being involved in person-centred care planning, supporting medication requirements, supervising staff, and acting as a key contact for residents and relatives. Ideal candidates will be caring, supportive, honest, respectful, and accountable, with an NVQ 3 or equivalent and at least two years experience in a similar care setting. Applicants must possess effective communication skills, a positive attitude, and flexibility to cover various responsibilities.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Your focus as a Senior Care Assistant will be tosupportand work alongside the Care team to deliver high standards of personal care, providing a safe, caring, innovative, open,supportive, andinclusiveenvironment for residents, visitors and staff.

Other responsibilitieswillinclude:

  • Monitoringthe wellbeing of each resident, being aware of any changeimpactingon care and care plans, ensuring that new needs aremet,and written records are amended to reflect any variation.
  • Beinginvolved in the person-centred care planning process, by implementing,monitoring,and undertaking monthly evaluations.
  • Supporting residents with their medication requirements.
  • Undertaking staff supervisions and supporting staff with their development where required.
  • Actingas a key point for contact with residents, theirrelativesand visitors, as well as health and social care professionals involved in their wellbeing, ensuring that any reasonable requests are actedupon,and concerns or complaints are escalated.

  • Have an NVQ 3 or equivalent in care for care homes.
  • Have 2 years experience working in similar care environment.
  • Have the ability tocommunicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

  • Beresponsive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities.
