Main duties of the job

As a Senior Care Assistant at Avery Healthcare, your primary responsibility is to support and work with the Care team to provide high standards of personal care in a safe, innovative, and inclusive environment. You're tasked with monitoring residents' wellbeing, adapting care plans to meet changing needs, assisting with medications, and conducting staff supervisions. Engaging in person-centred care planning is essential, requiring involvement in implementation, monitoring, and monthly evaluations. Effective communication skills are crucial for liaising with residents, their families, and healthcare professionals, ensuring their requests and concerns are addressed. The role emphasizes nurturing a positive environment and aiding in the development of staff. Responsibilities also include requirements like a DBS check and proof of eligibility to work in the UK.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Your focus as a Senior Care Assistant will be tosupportand work alongside the Care team to deliver high standards of personal care, providing a safe, caring, innovative, open,supportive, andinclusiveenvironment for residents, visitors and staff.

Other responsibilitieswillinclude:

• Monitoringthe wellbeing of each resident, being aware of any changeimpactingon care and care plans, ensuring that new needs aremet,and written records are amended to reflect any variation.
• Beinginvolved in the person-centred care planning process, by implementing,monitoring,and undertaking monthly evaluations.
• Supporting residents with their medication requirements.
• Undertaking staff supervisions and supporting staff with their development where required.
• Actingas a key point for contact with residents, theirrelativesand visitors, as well as health and social care professionals involved in their wellbeing, ensuring that any reasonable requests are actedupon,and concerns or complaints are escalated.

Our ideal candidatemust:

• Have an NVQ 3 or equivalent in care for care homes.
• Have 2 years experience working in similar care environment.
• Have the ability tocommunicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Have a positive attitude to bothsupporting and nurturing residents and staff.
• Beresponsive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities.
