We are looking for enthusiastic Cardiac Physiologists to join our team and provide excellent care to patients at Addenbrooke’s Hospital. This exciting new role has been developed to support the invasive and non-invasive cardiac physiology service at CUH.
You will support the delivery of the AECG service, working alongside other senior physiologists and delivering training for non-invasive areas of cardiac physiology.
You would be expected to work within the cardiac Cath lab providing technical support for diagnostic left and right heart angiography, permanent implantation of brady and complex devices and physiologist led loop recorder implantations. You will also be working within bradycardia and complex device clinics as well as supporting the remote follow up service.
A BSc in Clinical Physiology and RCCP/AHCS registration or their equivalents are essential. BHRS or IBHRE accreditation is desirable, but not essential. We would be able to support candidates who are currently going through this process.
Main duties of the job
You will be involved in all aspects of the Non-Invasive and Invasive Cardiology Department. First and foremost is the ability to be part of a team.
Ideally the post-holder should be able to perform 12 lead ECG’s, ambulatory monitors: fitting and analysis, technician-led exercise treadmill tests, support stress echo services and Pharmacological MIBI. The post holder will also oversee the ambulatory ECG service which is undergoing transformation to meet service needs with support from the lead non-invasive cardiac physiologist.
The cardiac catheterisation service includes left and right heart catheterisation, brady pacing and Loop record (Reveal) implant and follow-up. Complex device implant and follow-up (CRT, ICD). The post-holder will be/working towards being independent in angiogram, implanting and follow-up for brady-pacing, reveal device clinic and should have experience in complex devices, ICD, CRT, ideally with BHRS accreditation, in full or part.
Full and ongoing training and support will be provided for the successful candidate with a view to acquiring further qualifications and accreditation.
The post holder will be expected to remain professional at all times, liaise with other clinical teams and maintain good public relations on a one-to-one basis with the general public and other interest groups.

- Experience working in a healthcare environment, working alongside clinical and managerial staff.
- Experience of communicating directly with patients/carers and visitors.
