Job summary
St James Practice is looking to appoint a motivated and patient-centred Salaried GP to join our experienced and supportive multidisciplinary team. (There is an opportunity for List holding)
This role offers an excellent opportunity for a General Practitioner who is committed to delivering high-quality, personalised care while enjoying continuity with their own patient list. The successful candidate will work in a collaborative environment that values clinical excellence, teamwork, and professional development.
We welcome applications from GPs with experience in General Practice settings, although all suitably qualified candidates who share our commitment to outstanding patient care are encouraged to apply.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will:
Hold and manage an agreed patient list in conjunction with the Partners.
Provide routine and urgent GP consultations, both face-to-face and by telephone where clinically appropriate.
Diagnose and manage a wide range of acute and chronic medical conditions.
Prescribe safely and appropriately, arrange investigations, and make referrals when required.
Maintain accurate and contemporaneous clinical records.
Apply effective clinical decision-making, including appropriate safety-netting and follow-up.
Work collaboratively with GPs, nursing staff, pharmacists, and the wider multidisciplinary team.
Participate in clinical meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and practice development activities.

St James Practice is a general practice in Beckenham, Bromley providing NHS primary care services to over 7000 patients. We have a well-established team of 4 GP Partners, 1 salaried GP, 1 GP Retainer and 2 Practice Nurses
We are a training practice with one GP registrar and medical students from time to time. We are involved in new projects to change the delivery of Primary Care.

Job responsibilities
The following are the core responsibilities of the Salaried GP. There may be on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:
a. The delivery of highly effective medical care to the entitled population
b. The provision of services commensurate with the PMS contract
c. Generic prescribing adhering to local and national guidance
d. Effective management of long-term conditions
e. Processing of administration in a timely manner, including referrals, repeat prescription requests and other associated administrative tasks
f. Duty doctor on a rotational basis
g. Maintain accurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy and guidance
h. Working collaboratively, accepting an equal share of the practice workload
i. Adhere to best practice recommended through clinical guidelines and the audit process
j. Contribute to the successful implementation of continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the practice
k. Accept delegated responsibility for a specific area (or areas) or the QOF
l. Attend and contribute effectively to practice meetings as required
m. Contribute effective to the development and maintenance of the practice including; clinical governance, training, financial management and HR
n. Ensure compliance with the appraisal process
o. Prepare and complete the revalidation process
p. Commit to self-learning and instil an ethos of continuing professional development across the practice team
q. Support the training of medical students from all clinical disciplines
r. Support the partners in achieving the strategic aims of the practice, making recommendations to enhance income and reduce expenditure
s. Review and always adhere to practice protocols and policies
t. Promote collaborative working by liaising regularly with all staff and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
u. Take part in clinical Audits
v. Demonstrate a commitment to delivering safe, effective, and compassionate patient care while contributing positively to the ongoing development of the Practice.
