We're looking for a 4-6 session Salaried GP to join our team at Wem and Prees Medical Practice.
We are a Tier 2 Sponsoring Practice, open to a flexible start date later in the year.
Serving just over 12,000 patients across two sites, we are an established training practice with a reputation for supporting GPs at every stage of their career, from newly qualified doctors taking their first post after CCT through to experienced GPs looking for a fresh challenge.
Our approach is built around sustainability, collaboration and quality patient care.
What we offer:
- 15-minute face-to-face appointments,
- a total of 21 appointments per day,
- low visiting numbers
- protected morning coffee break where clinicians come together to share advice, discuss cases and support one another.
Working alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team, you'll be part of a practice that embraces new ways of working while maintaining the personal relationships and continuity of care that general practice is all about.
If you're looking for a role where you'll be valued, supported and given the time to provide high-quality patient care, we'd love to hear from you.
Based in the market town of Wem, with a dispensing branch surgery in nearby Prees, Shrewsbury with it's beautiful riverside walks and quirky independent shopping is only 20 mins away by road or rail, Chester and Birmingham and the wider motorway network are all within an hours driving.
Main duties of the job
We are seeking a 4-6 session Salaried GP to provide NHS Primary Medical Services to our patients.
The role includes the full range of duties expected of a GP, including clinical sessions, home visits, medical examinations and other day-to-day clinical responsibilities.
We recognise that starting a new role can be a significant step, and we are committed to providing the support needed to help you settle into the practice.
Our salaried GP team is led by a dedicated GP Partner, and you will benefit from regular one-to-one meetings, mentorship and structured support throughout your probationary period to ensure a smooth transition.
Following an initial settling-in period, there will be a shared commitment to the practice duty doctor rota. This responsibility is distributed fairly amongst the doctors, regularly reviewed and supported by an experienced Duty Receptionist team. Our duty system works well, supporting new ways of working while maintaining safe, effective patient care.
We're looking for someone who enjoys working as part of a team, values continuity of care and is committed to providing high quality patient care.
You'll be joining a supportive and collaborative practice where colleagues are approachable, new ideas are welcomed and everyone contributes to the continued development of the service.
If you would like to have an informal conversation or arrange a practice visit, please contact Caroline Morris, Managing Partner, by email caroline.morris22@nhs.net or 01939 238051
