At Lawrence Hill Health Centre Bristol we offer, team spirit, ethical healthcare, community focus and 4 partners who will listen to you. We are offering a 4-6 session salaried GP position starting mid 2026 on a fixed term basis lasting 12 months (with the potential for extension and permanent contract). Starting at £12k per session. BMA safe working limits, 13 patients per session, 15min appointments. One on call triage day. Flexibility to suit you but must include a Wednesday.

Main duties of the job

The role offers:

  • Weekly supportive clinical meetings.
  • Weekly team huddle.
  • Opportunities to further own interests or specialisms within the practice.
  • Minimal administration established document flow protocol, admin buddy system for absence. No hidden workload, all admin in designated admin slots.
  • Limited number of visits, all of which replace appointments within regular sessions.
  • Payment of medical defence fees.
  • BMA safe working limits,13 patients per session, 15min appointments.
  • Potential for a day of frailty / care home clinical work.

We are looking to recruit a salaried GP for 4-6 sessions per week, with a list of patients, covering one day triaging whilst on call and some afternoons supporting on-call.

Person specification

Experience

Essential

  • - Experience working in UK primary care
  • - Familiarity with QOF and clinical audit
  • - Demonstrated ability to provide care for patients from a wide range of cultural, social, and economic backgrounds

Desirable

  • - Experience working in inner-city or deprived areas
  • - Specialist interest in a clinical or non clinical area
  • - Teaching, mentoring, or supervision experience with AHP's, medical students, GP registrars, or other health professionals

Qualifications

Essential

  • - Fully qualified GP with GMC registration and inclusion on NHS England Performers List
  • - Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in General Practice (or equivalent)
  • - MRCGP
  • - Evidence of recent appraisal and current revalidation
  • - Appropriate medical defence indemnity

Desirable

  • - Previous experience as a GP
  • - Additional training in health inequalities, frailty, cultural competence, or safeguarding

Clinical Knowledge & Skills

Essential

  • - High standard of clinical competence across the breadth of general practice
  • - Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • - Ability to adapt communication style for patients from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds
  • - Skilled in working with interpreters and accessible communication formats
  • - Competent IT skills, including EMIS/SystmOne and Microsoft Office
  • - Accurate record-keeping and time management

Desirable

  • - Involvement in service improvement or innovation
