This will include provide comprehensive and confidential administrative and clerical activities to meet the needs of the service in accordance with Departmental, Trust and National standards, policies and procedures.

Main duties of the job
- Support safeguarding activity through the collection, collation and presentation of data from a variety of source
- Support the provision of assurances that actions from internal and external audits are progressing to inform the Trust committees.
- Work effectively with colleagues, internally and externally to the organisation, to ensure the dissemination of information which is of a highly sensitive and restrictive nature, pertaining to vulnerable adults, children, young people and their families.
- Participate in safeguarding audits under the supervision of the Named Nurse for Safeguarding as per audit plan and monitor progress with subsequent action plans.
- Maintain high data quality standards by ensuring that the data entered onto Trust systems is accurate, complete and up to date.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
- Support safeguarding activity through the collection, collation and presentation of data from a variety of sources.
- Support the Safeguarding Team in facilitation of incident investigations by organising meetings, ensuring that the relevant documentation is available, taking notes/minutes during the meetings and following up any resulting action plans.
- Support safeguarding training throughout the trust by means of administration and facilitation of classes.
- Support the provision of assurances that actions from internal and external audits are progressing to inform the Trust committees.
- Assist with safeguarding reports ensuring trust time limits are adhered to.
- Assist and administer as required the Child Death Overview Panel (CDOP) requirements.
- Facilitate the due diligence and adherence to key legislation including the Mental Health Act and the Mental Capacity Act.
- Manage stationary levels for the team through monitoring stock and ordering as required.
- To work effectively with colleagues, internally and externally to the organisation, to ensure the dissemination of information which is of a highly sensitive and restrictive nature, pertaining to vulnerable adults, children, young people and their families.
- Support the provision of information, advice and practical support to multidisciplinary specialty teams on all aspects of safeguarding.
- Participate in safeguarding audits under the supervision of the Named Nurse for Safeguarding as per audit plan and monitor progress with subsequent action plans.
- Ensure Trust wide standards are maintained and monitored to improve the quality of total care to all that come into contact with services provided by University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust.
- Comply with the principles of risk management including health and safety legislation, promoting high standards and acting immediately on hazards or unsafe practices in conjunction with other staff.
- Ensure that a comprehensive support and administration service is available to support the Safeguarding Team in compiling routine correspondence, reports and other associated documentation as appropriate.
- Participate in regular individual / team meetings, and personal reviews to achieve the objectives set for the post.
- Maintain high data quality standards by ensuring that the data entered onto Trust systems is accurate, complete and up to date.
- Work autonomously – organising, planning and prioritising own workload to meet the needs of the service. Manage and prioritise work in line with agreed schedules and in accordance with departmental professional standards
- To be responsible for personal continuing professional development articipate in appropriate training and development activities as required.
