Band 5 Occupational Therapist (Rotational) across QMC, City Hospital & NRC sites

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and dynamic Occupational Therapist, committed to further improving clinical skills and providing quality care to patients, to our well-established band 5 OT rotation at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust (NUH).

We have a broad range of rotations across the 3 sites including medicine, neuro and MSK, providing a fantastic opportunity to advance and consolidate your knowledge and skills across a variety of acute clinical settings.

You will need excellent interpersonal skills, a flexible approach and the ability to manage your own caseload whilst working within a supportive, established teams. Additionally, you will need to have full HCPC registration and some experience of working in an acute hospital setting would be a distinct advantage.

Occupational Therapists are based within the welcoming NUH Therapies department, alongside our colleagues in physiotherapy, SLT, orthotics & prosthetics and dietetics.

Main duties of the job

We are recruiting to band 5 Occupational Therapy rotational schemes (6 month rotations) within NUH.

The band 5 occupational therapy rotation offers a great opportunity to gain breadth and depth of experience working alongside specialist staff, within an acute inpatient setting. We offer all newly qualified staff a preceptorship programme to support them in their transition from newly registered professional to competent practitioner.

  • Undertake Occupational Therapy assessment & interventions to facilitate discharge and / or support rehabilitation
  • Day to day management of caseload using effective time management and prioritisation
  • Effective communication with patients, carers and staff
  • Contribute to effective OT & MDT working
  • Comply with NUH’s policies & procedures
  • Participate in CPD, supervision and appraisal process
  • To comply with the Royal Colleges of Occupational Therapist’s Professional Standards of Practice, Conduct & Ethics (2026)

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
