Job overview
This is a full time clinical post. The aim of the post holder would be to work in the rheumatology department. A wide range of inflammatory arthritis and connective tissue disorders are seen as well as soft tissue rheumatism.
The post holder would be expected to support the Early Arthritis and Biologics Clinic as well as reviewing in-patient Rheumatology referrals. Excellent training and supervision will be provided. There is an option to enrol for a part-time MSc in Rheumatology at Guys Hospital. This is a 2 year programme and supervision for the research project will be fully provided by one of the Rheumatology consultants.
There is plenty of opportunity to get involved with audit and research within the department as well as teaching medical students from St George’s Hospital Medical School.

This post is intended
- to complement the existing expertise within the department
- to provide teaching to undergraduates, post graduates & trainees and any other member of staff.
- To contribute actively to all aspects of the hospital affairs, as deemed appropriate by the Department/Division.
- To provide high quality health care for patients referred for diagnosis and treatment, including outpatients, inpatients.
- To be actively involved in MDT meetings providing cover for colleagues as required
- To provide prompt effective advice for General Practitioners and Hospital Doctors.
- To contribute to regular training and teaching sessions. To participate in educational and audit meetings and meet CPD requirements.
- To support the Hospital’s Clinical Governance Strategy and to participate in clinical audit.
- To contribute to all other aspects of the Division and Hospital’s affairs, including relevant Directorate meetings where appropriate.
