You will be joining a friendly and supportive Rheumatology Department which provides comprehensive Rheumatology services for Derby and Burton together with South Derbyshire/East Staffordshire and some parts of adjoining areas of Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire.

The Rheumatology Department is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated Band 6 Specialist Nurse to work within the Rheumatology team.

We are progressive forward thinking department with positive approach at meeting and delivering the current challenges of the NHS. The Rheumatology Nursing Team work alongside the consultant rheumatologist, specialist pharmacist and specialist therapist.

Main duties of the job

Under direction of the Lead Specialist Nurse

  • Deliver care to defined case load of patients in an out patients settings
  • Conduct nurse-led clinics
  • Act as the patients advocate - maintaining patient privacy and dignity
  • Provide advice, support and education to patients/significant others
  • Provide advice and support to junior staff and learners
  • Coordinate care with MDT, including consultants, allied health professionals and primary care services
