The Respiratory Physiology Department at the Northern General Hospital is looking to employ a Respiratory Healthcare Science Assistant.
The post involves performing a wide range of diagnostic respiratory tests and assisting with investigations and treatment of sleep related breathing disorders.

Main duties of the job
Job Purpose:
- To perform a range of physiological investigations on patients in order to aid clinical diagnosis and to provide factual reports.
- To perform calibration and quality control on a range of equipment
- To undertake all data documentation, clerical and admin tasks associated admin role.
- To provide a range of general duties to facilitate service efficiency, including stock control and infection control procedures.
Role of Department:
- To deliver a high standard, evidence based diagnostic respiratory and sleep non-invasive support service to patients within Sheffield and the surrounding areas
- To deliver education to healthcare professionals on respiratory physiology
- To support staff through professional development and supervision
- By active collaboration to continue to improve and develop the Department of Respiratory Physiology into a nationally recognised Centre of Excellence.
